The Opportunity As VP of Engineering, you’ll be the company’s most senior engineering leader — responsible for evolving the engineering organisation as it enters a new stage of scale. You’ll lead a high-calibre team across frontend, backend and machine learning, driving both technical strategy and team development.
This role is equal parts strategy and execution. You’ll define the systems and processes that make the team world-class — and roll up your sleeves where needed to move things forward. You’ll collaborate closely with Product, Design and executive leadership, ensuring engineering is a core force in shaping the future of the company.
What You’ll Be Doing - Lead and mentor a talented team of engineers across multiple technical disciplines
- Drive high-performance delivery, balancing speed with robustness and technical excellence
- Partner with Product to align roadmaps, define scope, and reduce risk through experimentation
- Guide ML and R&D efforts, helping shape infrastructure and scaling strategy
- Own security and compliance processes
- Grow the team through thoughtful hiring, coaching, and career development
About You You’re an engineering leader who thinks strategically, executes precisely, and leads with humility. You have a strong product instinct and a knack for balancing pragmatism with long-term thinking. You’ve likely worked in fast-moving environments where clarity, focus, and initiative are key.
You’ll thrive if you bring: - Proven experience leading high-performing software teams
- Technical depth in modern web, backend or machine learning stacks
- A delivery mindset — balancing iteration speed with systems thinking
- Experience in startups or fast-scaling environments
- Clear, confident communication skills — async and in person
- A collaborative approach and a strong sense of ownership
- Bonus: familiarity with infosec, compliance, or data infrastructure at scale
