Ready to take the lead on technical direction while still staying deep in the code? We’re looking for Principal Engineers who want to drive architecture, mentor at scale, and ship high-quality software every week.
About the Role: This is a Principal-level position with real influence. You’ll be the go-to for engineering leadership across one or more squads, helping define how frontend is built, scaled, and maintained. Around 70 percent of your time will be spent hands-on - writing code, solving hard problems, and leading by example. The other 30 percent will focus on coaching, mentoring, setting technical standards, and helping uplift team capability.
You’ll be working closely with a new Engineering Manager who’s focused on modernising structure and delivery. It’s a great time to join and help shape how things are done.
What you’ll be working with:
React, and React Native as the core frontend stack
Cloud infrastructure built on Azure
Backend and API services are centrally managed - frontend engineers are free to focus on interface, performance, and experience
Modern tooling with room to influence architecture, testing, and development practices
What we’re looking for:
Proven experience at Principal level, or as a highly experienced senior engineer ready to step up
Deep capability in React, with experience building scalable, high-performing frontends
A track record of technical leadership - setting direction, influencing architecture, and mentoring others
A strong product mindset - you care about how your work impacts users and the wider system
Comfortable working cross-functionally with design, product, and backend teams
Familiarity with Azure or other cloud platforms
