Networking & Security Contractor (3-6 months) - Wellington preferred We're looking for a contractor who thrives on getting things done. This is a practical role where you'll be right in the thick of it - rolling up your sleeves, solving problems, and tightening up the way things run day to day.
You'll be part of a small, collaborative team and your work will have a direct impact from day one. The focus is on strengthening security, improving operational practices, and keeping things humming by working through BAU tickets with pace and precision.
You'll be hands-on with: - Networking using Cisco Meraki
- Security across AWS & Microsoft
- Building and tuning log flows into Microsoft Sentinel, setting up alerts, and managing workbooks
- Configuring and optimising Microsoft Defender
- Zscaler (ZIA, ZPA, app connectors)
- Driving continuous improvements in operational security
We're after someone who: - Likes making things happen more than making diagrams
- Has a broad, adaptable networking and security skill set
- Spots what needs fixing, gets it done, and shares ideas for doing things better
This isn't a sit-back-and-advise kind of role - it's a chance to dive in, make a visible difference, and leave things stronger than you found them. Ideally you'll be Wellington-based, but we're open to strong candidates anywhere in NZ.
