About the company Our client is an established Wellington-based fintech operating in a regulated environment where security, reliability and protecting sensitive data genuinely matter.
They’re fully cloud-based on AWS, ISO 27001 certified, and investing heavily in their wider technology capability.
The role This isn’t a security role where you find a vulnerability, create a ticket and throw it over the fence to Engineering.
They need someone technical enough to understand their environment, determine what genuinely presents a risk, prioritise it properly and work alongside engineers to actually fix it.
You’ll work across cloud security, vulnerability management, IAM, DevSecOps, security tooling and automation, while also supporting the controls and compliance that come with operating in fintech.
What you’ll be doing - Investigating and triaging vulnerabilities based on actual risk
- Working with engineers to remediate security issues
- Improving security across the AWS environment
- Supporting IAM, security tooling and DevSecOps practices
- Automating security controls and processes
- Helping improve how sensitive data and PII is managed
- Supporting ISO 27001 and wider security requirements
About you You’ll likely come from Security Engineering, Cloud Security, Platform Security or DevSecOps and be comfortable getting technically involved.
AWS experience would be ideal, alongside exposure to areas such as vulnerability management, IAM, automation and security controls.
Most importantly, you’ll be pragmatic, technically curious and someone engineers actually enjoy working with.
There’s also plenty of room to grow. You’ll work with an experienced technology leader who has previously held CISO responsibilities and can help develop someone wanting broader security ownership over time.
