About the Company: Our client is a Kiwi pet retailer with around 180 staff across head office, warehouse and retail. Founded by the team behind Neighbourly, the tech side runs like a SaaS startup, not a traditional retailer.
About the Role: This isn't a ticket-taking job. You'll pick up business problems early, shape the requirements, design the solution and own it through to production. You'll stay hands-on across architecture, build, testing and support, and be the go-to technical lead for the team. No direct reports.
Skills & Experience: - Lead, Principal or very experienced Senior Engineer
- Track record leading projects through to delivery
- PHP (Symfony/Laravel) and TypeScript/React
- AWS, Linux, MySQL, Docker, CI/CD
- Professional use of AI coding or agentic tools
- Confident pushing back on requirements
- Clear communicator with non-tech stakeholders
