  • Own end-to-end product surfaces in a fast-growing AI startup
  • Build cutting-edge AI/LLM-powered systems in production
  • If "unlimited tokens" excites you, you'll fit right in
About the Company

Our client is a fast-growing, San Francisco-based startup with Kiwi roots, backed by leading US investors. With $10M NZD raised and customers ranging from startups to public companies, they’re building AI-native systems that help sales teams operate and scale more effectively.

Rather than building another dashboard or copilot, they’re embedding AI directly into workflows through autonomous agents that assist with decision making, execution, and operational overhead across sales organisations.

About the Role

This is a Senior Product Engineer role with a strong backend and systems focus, working across AI workflows, orchestration, integrations, and infrastructure.

You’ll work closely with the founders to design and ship AI-native product experiences that operate in real production environments. A big part of the role is thinking beyond “calling an API” and helping shape how AI systems behave, scale, and integrate into day-to-day workflows.

The environment is highly hands-on, product-focused, and suited to someone who enjoys ambiguity, experimentation, and ownership.

What They’re Looking For
  • Strong backend and infrastructure capability across cloud systems, APIs, databases, and distributed workflows
  • Experience building or integrating AI/LLM systems into real products
  • Strong TypeScript/Node.js experience
  • Comfortable working across the stack when needed
  • Product-minded engineer who thinks about workflows and user outcomes, not just implementation
  • Curiosity around AI-native development and agentic systems
  • Comfortable operating in fast-moving, high-ownership environments
  • Bonus points for experience with orchestration, RAG, agents, evaluation systems, or production AI tooling
Why Join?
  • High ownership and direct influence on product direction
  • AI-native engineering environment using modern tooling and workflows
  • Fully remote within NZ
  • Small, highly capable team solving genuinely hard product problems
  • Opportunity to help shape how AI systems operate in production at scale
  • International travel opportunities
