  • Work on mission-critical infrastructure powering global cybersecurity.
  • Blend traditional datacenter networking with AWS cloud adoption.
  • Flexible hybrid working with emphasis on team autonomy.
About the Company:
Our client is a global leader in application security, protecting enterprise-scale web platforms from real-world threats. With innovation at its core, they operate across on-premise and cloud environments to proactively defend digital infrastructure for some of the world’s most security-conscious organisations.

About the Role:
This is a foundational role within the Infrastructure & Cloud team. As the business merges its cloud and traditional infrastructure functions into one high-performing unit, you’ll play a key role in maintaining on-prem infrastructure  while building out AWS-native services. You’ll support core networking systems, firewalls, VPNs, and gradually shift toward Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC), automation, and platform reliability engineering.
You’ll work with experienced infrastructure engineers and collaborate with cloud specialists—sharing responsibilities as the teams merge and their architecture evolves. Expect roughly 80% of your time in BAU networking/support and 20% on design and forward-looking solutions, with that balance shifting as cloud adoption matures.

Core Responsibilities:
  • Maintain and support hybrid infrastructure across on-prem and AWS.
  • Lead and troubleshoot routing, switching, firewalls, VPNs, and F5 APM.
  • Contribute to AWS infrastructure provisioning and VPC/networking setups.
  • Design automation pipelines using tools like Terraform and Ansible.
  • Collaborate on Infrastructure-as-Code initiatives and platform observability.
  • Assist with on-call duties (1–2 calls/week, mostly outside hours).
  • Provide infrastructure services for internal teams (e.g., ASCs) to operate securely.
What We're Looking For:
  • 5+ years in infrastructure/network engineering or equivalent experience.
  • Strong understanding of network protocols (Layers 1–7) and routing.
  • Hands-on experience with AWS networking (VPC, ELB, CloudWatch).
  • Comfortable with Linux, MacOS environments and hybrid stacks.
  • Familiarity with tools like MikroTik, F5 BIG-IP/APM, VyOS, ESXi.
  • Knowledge of automation and IaC (Terraform, Ansible, scripting). (not req)
  • Strong troubleshooting skills and a proactive, curious mindset.
Ideal Background:
  • Prior experience at ISPs, telcos, large-scale infrastructure, or product-based tech companies.
  • Someone who thrives in a fast-moving, security-conscious environment and is ready to grow into a cloud-first architecture world.
  • Someone with strong Networking and Infrastructure experience, ideally with experience to cloud tech
Why Work Here?
  • Join a high-autonomy, low-ego team solving real security problems.
  • Opportunity to lead infrastructure design, not just operate it.
  • Direct impact on cloud transformation initiatives.
  • Flexible remote working from Auckland (preferred for on-call proximity).
  • Culture of continuous learning, growth, and collaboration.
  • Exposure to AWS, IaC, and modern DevOps/SRE practices.
  • Attend security forums, industry events, and professional development opportunities.
