Our client gives the world kinder, smarter ways to deal with their rodent problems. They have created and revolutionised traps that are humane and toxin-free, making them kinder on people, pests and on the planet.
The best part is that they are intelligent, taking care of themselves and rodents, so their customers can spend more time doing stuff thatʼs 100000% more fun than pest control.
The Role Digitally-enabled products are core to our client's mission to Rewild the World.
As the Android developer, you will be pivotal in making their products effective and a pleasure to use, and you will be making a difference in conservation outcomes globally.
You will be part of their diverse Product Development team that has a wide range of skill sets. In particular, you will work collaboratively alongside our full-stack developer on their suite of software products.
However their App and digital connectivity are critical to success across the entire business, so you will also collaborate regularly with their in-house Commercial and Marketing teams.
In this role, you will: - Be mainly focused on the Android version of their app, a native app written in Kotlin. You will be responsible for both enhancement and maintenance of the app, as well as new development work.
- Maintain code that interfaces with their IoT hardware product that uses Bluetooth Low Energy, and possibly connectivity technologies they may move forward with
- Depending on your skill set you could also be involved in server-side work (in Kotlin, Spring Boot, PostgreSQL) or front-end web development (React), although skills in these work areas arenʼt pre-requisites for the role – the important thing is that youʼre at the top of your game as an Android developer.
Our client is a tiny but mighty team of 40 people who design, test, assemble and ship their traps all from the same building in Wellington. By doing it all in-house, from new product development to app development, they can move faster and smarter, while staying true to their values of kindness, bravery and idealism.
